Fire Suppression System (FIRE)

Today’s data centers and network rooms are under enormous pressure to maintain operations.

According to the National fire Protection Association (NFPA), there were 125,000 non-residential fires in 2001 with a total of 3.231 billion dollars in losses. It’s no wonder why when designing data centers, fire prevention, detection and suppression are always top concerns.

Today there are many ways of detecting and suppressing fires, but only a few are recommended for data center applications. In a data center, the main goal of the fire protection system is to get the fire under control without disrupting the flow of business and without threatening the personal inside. At VISIONTEC SYSTEM, we can offer a complete gas-based human, environment and equipment friendly fire suppression system.

NITROGEN FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM

In critical space where water-based system can cause secondary damage and the risk of toxicity of hydrogen fluoride formation produced and environment impact due to halocarbon must be avoided. Inert gas system using Inectec-100 Nitrogen system is strongly recommended. It has many advantages which is why it is considered the ultimate best choice to protect your critical rooms.

Inertec-100 Nitrogen should be the best choice in all aspects to protect your critical assets base on the following considerations:-

  • Nitrogen is Safe, Effective and Environmental-friendly Yet Budget Friendly
  • Zero ODP and Zero GWP
  • No fogging effect means safe evacuation and rescue work
  • Cost effective and convenient and plenty of refilling station available (not monopolized)
  • Reset-able actuator & automatic shut-off valves for pressure gauge means operation and maintenance friendly
  • Can propose to reduce Insurance Premium by doing annual live discharge test which will guarantee performance of fire safety
  • No phase out concern (Nitrogen is naturally extract from Atmosphere)
  • One Year Free Gas Refilling during Warranty
  • Annual discharge test at Low Cost

CLEAN AGENT FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM

FM200 is the most widely used Halon replacement and unlike dry chemical, FM200 is colorless, odorless gas that leaves no oily residue. It extinguishes Class A, B and C fire by interrupting the chemical chain reaction, absorbs heat and accelerating the suppression process. FM200 systems reach extinguishing levels in 10seconds or less, stopping ordinary combustible, electrical and flammable liquid fires before they cause significant damage.

The U.S. EPA has accepted FM200 for use in occupied space at concentrations up to 9% by volume and up to 10.5% by volume for normally non occupied spaces. It is non-toxic when used in accordance with NFPA standard 2001. Unlike water, FM200 is an electrically nonconductive agent that will not short out electronic equipment. And unlike the very cold discharge of carbon dioxide, FM200 will not thermally shock delicate circuity.

In applications where space is at a premium, FM200 agent is stored in cylinders as a liquid and pressurized with nitrogen. For the same amount of protection, FM200 saving 7 times less storage space than systems based on carbon dioxide and inert gases. FM200 is earth friendly and will not deplete stratospheric ozone and it has a short atmospheric lifetime (31-42year). As such, it is approved for use in total flooding fire suppression system.
Novec 1230, environmental friendly Halon replacement as gaseous fire suppression agent. It does not deplete ozone, has five days atmospheric life and low toxicity which has global warming potential of 1.

Novec 1230 has low heat of vaporization which is approximately 25times lesser than that of water. Along with a higher vapor pressure, cause it to evaporate more than 50times faster than water. It ables to transition from liquid to a gaseous state rapidly when discharged through nozzles. In preperly designed system, it rapidly vaporize and evely distribute thoughout protected space.

The main concept of this agent is removing the heat energy and interrupting the combustion process. Also, Novec 1230 does not react with hydroxyl radical (OH) but substantial decay occurs when exposed to UV radiation.
